ABOUT & HISTORY

The Mongolian Culture and Heritage Center of Colorado (MCAHCC) was founded in 2003 by artist and philantrophist Mr.Tsogo Mijid. Formerly known as Mon-Ael Mongolian Culture Center for the Arts, our organization originally consisted of nine professional performing and fine arts members ranging from visual artists, contortionist, dancers, singers, and musicians. In 2015, MCAHCC was awarded 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization status. We proudly take the invaluable paradigm history of our organization as foundation in moving forward with our vision to expand internationally.

MCAHCC is the first organization of its kind founded and run in the United States of America – committed to the preservation, cultivation, and advancement of the rich Mongolian culture and heritage. MCAHCC operates on the commitment to helping enrich the lives of the greater Mongolian and surrounding world communities through inspiring and facilitating cross-cultural dialogues and educational exchange.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to help preserve and promote the unique Mongolian culture, heritage, arts, language, history, and traditions through education for the greater Mongolian and surrounding world communities, thereby helping inspire cross-cultural exchange for the public.

OUR GOALS:

    • To develop and conduct various educational classes about Mongolian art and customs that promote the preservation of Mongolian culture and heritage.
    • To teach Mongolian language to Mongolian youth, Americans, and interested cultural communities.
    • To re-establish Mongolian Buddhist class “Dharma Wheel” for both the Mongolian and American communities with a focus on providing Buddhist philosophy, meditation, and yoga lessons.
    • To establish an Art Gallery to help showcase and promote Mongolian emerging and established artists. To curate exhibitions that introduce traditional and contemporary Mongolian arts to the worldwide public.
    • To organize and conduct meetings and seminars with other Mongolian organizations thereby facilitating inter-cultural connections within community.
    • To observe and celebrate traditional Mongolian holiday celebrations in Colorado and offer the opportunity to share the festive events with the local community.
    • To provide tourism assistance and travel guidance to people who are interested in the Mongolian culture and those planning to visit Mongolia.
    • To establish the first unique Mongolian Cultural Art Museum Restaurant that serves traditional and contemporary Mongolian cuisine.
  • To fulfill our DREAM PROJECT 2017 and build the first facility of its kind in the United States for the Mongolian Culture and Heritage Center of Colorado.

It is with great excitement that we at the Mongolian Culture & Heritage Center of Colorado would like to extend our warmest invitation for you to join us as an Attendee and Sponsor for our Second Annual Gala Fundraising Event, a benefit dinner for the MCHCC. (Your attendance (to our First Benefit Gala Event) last year was greatly appreciated as you have helped contribute towards the developmental betterment of our organization, and we eagerly anticipate your attendance this year. We have confirmed Sunday afternoon, March 26th, 2017 as the date for our dinner event this year, taking place at the Yak & Yeti Restaurant and Event Center in Denver, Colorado. Our Gala sponsors are integral to our success—your enthusiastic generosity helps us reach out to new people and convey our message to a broader audience. As sponsors, you will receive preferred seating at the table of your choice (in addition to receiving authentic Mongolian collectors gift item(s) of choice.

As part of our reception this year, attendees will get to enjoy delicious appetizers and drink specials to the tune of live Mongolian music while browsing through an array of colorful traditional Mongolian costumes, silent auction items, souvenir merchandise, traditional Mongolian games station featuring Mongolian Bone Divination, among viewing a comprehensive art exhibition by our talented student artists from the Uran Biir Colorado Mongolian Art Class. The event will include auctions featuring such exciting items as unique Mongolian vintage and contemporary hand crafted furniture’s, authentic Mongolian leather boots, exquisite Mongolian art and collector’s souvenirs, and vouchers to the Denver Zoo/Denver Museum of Nature and Science/The Butterfly Pavilion.

New this year in our program schedule is the actual demonstration and building of a Mongolian yurt where attendees will get an opportunity to participate in the erection process and enjoy a sampling of the coveted Mongolian horse milk drink. We will also have a Live Contest where attendees can enter for a chance to win an original Mongolian framed painting by artist Tsogtsaikhan Mijid.

The dinner program includes a delicious buffet of Nepalese/Indian food and dessert in backdrop to a repertoire of Mongolian entertainment specials such as Morin Khuur, Long Song and Throat singing by acclaimed Mongolian guest musician Otgonbaatar, Mongolian children’s fashion runway show, traditional Mongolian dance, Shaman Dance and Dulcimer performance.

The money raised at our annual Gala event directly supports the MCHCC’s mission to preserve, educate and perpetuate Mongolia’s unique cultural and spiritual heritage for the benefit of the Mongolian people and surrounding communities. We dedicate all proceeds from our fundraising efforts towards the development, production, and sustenance of our various Mongolian cultural arts, educational and heritage programs.
